As an Junior ICT Specialist in the IT Services team, you will work with IT colleagues in BenQ’s European regional headquarters, located in Eindhoven, managing, and supporting a European wide IT infrastructure, including key systems hosted in the company data centre in Eindhoven. BenQ Europe is also part of BenQ’s global organisation and IT platform.

Job requirements

Core Tasks

Depending on the platform - designing / building / maintaining / supporting:

  • The European wide Windows Active Directory domain which is part of a global Active Directory network architecture.

  • The Microsoft 365 online environment, which includes Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive, etc.

  • All servers in the data centre in the European headquarters, as well as servers in BenQ Europe’s national subsidiary offices run on the VMware vSphere virtual server platform managed via a single, Europe wide, vCenter instance. In the data centre there is a leading-edge HP SAN for shared data storage.

  • Linux servers - OS level maintenance and installing and managing several turnkey solutions running on LAMP or similar Linux platforms.

  • The European wide networking, VPN, WiFi and telecommunication systems using equipment from HP, FortiNet, Avaya.

  • All related technical equipment which supports the above systems.

  • Install, configure, and monitor the infrastructure of BenQ Europe, including all branches in many different EU countries / UK + CH: virtual and physical servers, Firewalls, Switches, UPSes, Back-up solutions, internet connections and more

  • Work on first-, second-, and third-line incidents, daily monitor the tickets to ensure overall efficient solutions to users.

  • You will be involved in all projects (new builds, refurbishments, and migrations)

  • Sparring partner for improvements on infrastructure / share knowledge in the whole team

  • Develop and maintain system documentation, including standard operating procedures, system configurations, and user manuals.

  • Contributes to our global IT project teams to implement new technical solutions

  • Assists in investigation and resolution of network problems

 

Responsible for installing and troubleshooting IT equipment and software

  • System-deployments

  • System-Maintenance (changes, updates, etc. (mostly Windows + Linux))

  • System-reporting

  • System monitoring (VEEAM One + Zabbix)

  • Maintaining system-backups (VEEAM Backup & Replication + system-level)

  • Supporting office-relocations

  • ICT stock-management

  • Hardware-maintenance

  • Provide user-training

  • Server-maintenance (±20 physical / ±130 virtual (VMWare vSphere))

  • Endpoint-maintenance (±350 Windows workstations)

  • Maintain OS & application deployments (PDQ Deploy & Inventory, Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Management, etc.)

Pan European End-User IT Support:

  • Supporting 1st line IT support staff who are responsible for covering end-user queries regarding any office automation systems (desktops, printers, servers, networks), in the BenQ Europe regional headquarters in Eindhoven plus all national subsidiary offices throughout Europe.

  • 2nd line IT support of any queries related to any BenQ offices’ servers and/or IT systems.

If you have…

  • College (MBO) or higher school level education, ideally with further education in IT.

  • One or more technical certifications in Microsoft, VMware, Linux or other relevant technology platforms - or equivalent working experience.

  • Experience with computer (workstation & server) hardware and operating systems listed above is a plus.

  • Experience in networking technologies and equipment is a plus.

  • Fluency in written and spoken English is a requirement; Dutch is a big plus.

  • Ability to work independently and investigate and solve varying technical issues.

  • Ability to handle stress while maintaining a customer focus. You can go above and beyond finding ways to support the BenQ staff by providing high-quality service, coordinating requests, offering training to those who need it, or flagging things with your fellow BenQ IT colleagues.

  • High sense of system security.
